According to me, all kind of dictature is bad for freedom of thoughts… President Hugo Chavez doesn't ask people if they want there dictionary changed or not !! He's just doing it, people don't have choice… and it's the same for music !! What if people want to listen to american music ?? I think it's important to know about all cultures all over the world, and have the liberty to choose what we like or not !! And that includes american culture…
On an other hand, it's really important to conserve our roots, to keep our own culture safe. If we start to use english words, it means that we're loosing part of our language, and language is the first expression of a culture. Today, we need to know how to speak and understand English (because it's what latin was for Europe a couple of years ago), it's the language of internationality, it's our link with the world, the first tool of communication. But even if we need English, it doesn't mean that we should forget our native language, it doesn't mean that we should forget our roots !!
Finally, keep our own words to express ourselves is very important, but we should have the choise to use other words if we want to !
